Easydate plans to change name to Cupid

Internet-based dating operator Easydate is planning to change its name to Cupid plc.

The board says the name change will capitalise on the successful acquisition of Cupid.com in September.

The company had previously operated Cupid.com under licence.

CEO Bill Dobbie said: "Cupid is a name with worldwide appeal and positive connotations that we believe describes the company perfectly and will provide a solid brand for us as we continue our rapid growth and geographical expansion."

The proposal will be put to shareholders at a general meeting which will be held on to be held at 10am on 11 January at 23 Manor Place, Edinburgh.
