Branch Manager
After graduating in Economics in 1982 Nigel worked in London for nine years, starting off as an investment analyst and then moving into pension fund management at a Canadian insurance company. In 1991 he moved to north Wales and joined Nelson Money Managers, where he was responsible for managing income investments on behalf of retired clients. He joined Hargreave Hale in 1997 and became manager of the Bangor branch in 2000.
Nigel took over as fund manager of the Marlborough Extra Income Fund in 2009. He believes his pension fund background, with the emphasis on long term investment returns, is very suitable for this fund, particularly at a time when income generation is of major concern to investors.
Assistant Manager
Matthew joined the Bangor team in March 2008 from a Manchester stock broking firm, and holds a Diploma of Investment Management from the Securities and Investment Institute (SII).
Investment Adviser
Paul has been with the firm since the beginning of 2007 and looks after our Advisory clients, after previously spending 26 years in retail banking with Barclays. His hobbies include the theatre where he is a volunteer steward at Venue Cymru in Llandudno. Paul has a great passion for sport, in particular rugby union where he is a matchday volunteer with the newly formed RGC 1404 North Wales regional rugby team. Over many years Paul has helped raise thousands of pounds for worthy charitable causes as a longstanding member of the Round Table in Conwy and surrounding area.
Clerical Assistant
Beryl joined Hargreave Hale in March 2005 having spent 17 years working in administration for a local college of further education. Her interests outside of work include music, travelling and reading, she is a member of a ladies choir of which she has been the secretary since 2007. She is also a keen church organist and an active member of the church council.
Investment Adviser
Peter joined the firm in August 2000 after an early period in industrial research, followed by 25 years in Secondary Education where he was a Deputy Headteacher of longstanding. Joining Hargreave Hale allowed him to turn 35 years of private investing into a second professional career. Within the Bangor office, he provides a dealing function, services a large solicitor base and looks after the interests of Advisory Clients.

Aled joined the firm in October 2010 as a graduate trainee following his graduation from Cardiff University with a degree in Business Management. He has settled in extremely well, Aled is already able to provide clients with a bilingual dealing service and is playing a major role in company analyses. He is currently studying towards attaining his professional qualifications which will enable him to become an Investment Adviser in the near future.
Branch Customer Service Manager
Shirley has a wealth of experience having beein in the industry for over 30 years. She is directly involved in the welfare of clients, provides a dealing service, plays a key role in the day to day administration of the Bangor office and liaises continuously with the Settlement Office in Blackpool.
